Is it real love on St Valentine's Day?

Today many people will be waiting to express their love through the giving of gifts, wining and dining and just spending their time with the person towards whom their affections are directed. Businesses have cashed in on this age old phenomenon of St Valentines Day and it's not small change. A small bunch of roses peaking at £50 is not a joke. A small box of luxury chocolates at a land-sliding £40 is huge. But my question to all of us lovers out there is this- with all the hype displayed and efforts we go to is it real love we are expressing? Or are we expressing a desire to please, a desire to impress, fear to avoid nagging, or peer pressure. An ancient saying states that "Perfect love casts out fear." Meaning that love is not coerced, love is not stressed and love is not fearful. How can you tell when love is a lie ?

So what is behind your Valentine's Day? If it is to express selfless, patient kindness then maybe you are on the right track. Happy loving!
